Product description format_size zoom_out zoom_in

Represents an add-on module for use in complex projects. Allows you to simplify the connection of Arduino UNO with sensors, motors, indicators and other devices. Facilitates connection to Arduino UNO analog inputs, digital inputs and outputs, and standard interfaces. Sensor shield v5.0 is installed on top of the Arduino UNO thanks to the pins on the underside of the board.
It is not enough to connect the sensor signal lines, you need to connect the power supply. For this, the module contains special contacts through which the power is branched to all connected devices. It is possible to connect a separate power supply. For this, it is provided to connect the Arduino Sensor Shield 5.0 expansion module to the power supply through a separate terminal block. You can also use power from the lines of the Arduino UNO module. Of the active elements, the Arduino Sensor Shield 5.0 contains LEDs. A duplicate Reset button is installed in the expansion module.

Main characteristics:

  • Supply voltage: 5 V
  • Compatibility: Arduino UNO and their analogues.
  • Dimensions: 57 x 57 x 20 mm
Microcontroller interfaces located in the Arduino UNO module, thanks to the use of Arduino Sensor Shield 5.0, you can now connect each to its own connector. Their location is shown below. Also shown are connectors that collect signals from digital contacts for connecting various devices of the arduino category.

The expansion module allows you to connect to the following interfaces:

  • I2C
  • Bluetooth
  • SD card
  • APC220 wireless RF
  • RB URF for ultrasonic sensors
  • 12864 LCD serial and parallel interface
  • 32 servo controller

Pin assignment and connection:

Interfaces:

  • SD card interface - has 6 pins, the first pin is marked on the board with a "+" sign. Pin designation: VCC, GND, D11, D10, D13, D12.
  • Ultrasonic interface (interface for connecting ultrasonic sensors) - has 4 pins, the first pin is marked on the board with a "+" sign. Pin designation: VCC, A0, A1, GND.
  • Interface for connecting an external power source (power supply, battery). Pin designation: GND, VCC.
  • Arduino power strip, pin designation: RESET, 3V3, 5V, GND, VIN.
  • There are six analog inputs designated: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
  • Analog IO ports (analog input-output interface) have 6 pins, pin designation: A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5. Each I/O has 3 pins GND, VCC, Signal.
  • I2C (IIC) port (Inter-Integrated Circuit) - serial data bus for communication of integrated circuits. Has 4 pins, pin designation: SCL (Serial CLock), SDA (Serial DAta), "-", "+".
  • RS232 interface (serial COM bus), has 4 pins pin designation: Tx, Rx, "-", "+".
  • ACP220 wireless module interface (interface for connecting external Wi-Fi module ACP220). Has 6 inputs, designation of inputs: GND, VCC, not used, D1, D0, not used.
  • Bluetooth interface (interface for connecting an external Bluetooth device) has 6 pins. Pin designation: VCC, GND, D1, D0, GND, 3V3.
  • Digital IO ports (digital I/O block) have 16 pins. Pin designation: D0, D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, D9, D10, D11, D12, D13, GND, AREF. Each input-output has 3 pins GND, VCC, Signal. AREF pin (voltage reference for analog inputs).
  • The LCD parallel interface has 14 pins. Designation of pins on the board interface diagram.
  • The LCD serial interface has 6 pins. Pin designation on the board interface diagram.

A screw terminal located in the corner of the board is used to connect an additional power supply to the expander.
Contact groups marked on the board G, V and S are used for connecting various simple devices: sensors, LEDs and others. A special female-to-female cable connector is used for connection.

Jumper and indication

The “SEL” jumper next to the screw terminal allows you to select the power supply option: an external unit or from an Arduino UNO. Nearby is the PWR LED. It shows if voltage is being supplied to the board. In order for the contacts of the connectors to receive power from the external unit, you need to apply 5 volts to the “Power” terminal and remove the “SEL” jumper.
