Recently, cathode ray tubes (CRTs) are increasingly being pushed out of the market for displaying video information by liquid crystal (LCD) and plasma technologies in the sector of personal and community displays, LED technology in the sector of public video screens. Thermionic cathodes commonly used in CRTs make devices based on them bulky (large screen thickness); the need for heating the cathode reduces the efficiency of the devices. The image on the CRT screen is formed due to the excitation of the phosphor by high-energy electrons, and to obtain a color image for the entire screen, the electron flow is formed by three electron guns, which reduces the brightness and ergonomic characteristics of the display.
